Who do you think is smarter, Leo or Annabeth? Personally I think they're both smart in different fields, but I'm not sure if Architecture counts as STEM because that's what Leo's ability lies in.

cindersart:

leo for sure lmao. architecture is classified as a stem subject in the uk now iirc, idk if it’s any different in america, but architecture requires and applies all the same subjects and skills that most other stem jobs would.  theyre on the same playing field, but leo seems to have a much broader skill set when it comes to what he builds, like the argo for example. it wasn’t just a warship, it was equipped with various living quarters, and he was continually adding to it with whatever their quest/his friends required. on the fly. this boy basically built howl’s moving castle at 15/16 and apparently designed it/came up with the idea as young as….idk, under 10? he’s a prodigy

and i know some of yall are seething bc im not propping the white girl up over the moc so let me be clear: annabeth is smart too, she’s done important and valuable things, but regardless of how rick/the fandom handles annabeth’s intelligence vs literally any brown character who dares to have A Brain next to her, leo is for sure smarter

One of my favorite parts of the Percy Jackson series (other than anything with Paul Blofis) is when Percy and co. are on a super important mission but then they realize that the Hoover Dam is nearby and even though Annabeth isn’t with them, they know that she loves architecture, so literally for no reason other than respecting something their friend loves, they just forget the mission and detour out of the way to haul ass all the way up to the top of the Hoover Dam in her honor and they make a bunch of dam jokes and then Percy sees an underwater cow that he named Bessie and he’s like, “Hey, the underwater cow that was near Long Island is now spontaneously in the Hoover Dam, that’s neat.” and then he goes back to admiring the architecture and all of it leads up to a battle that introduces new characters, new threats, and the plot of the story, none of which they were prepared for, they just wanted to go to look at some architecture because Annabeth thought it was nifty, I love them all so much.

↳ Annabeth loves architecture, and spends her free time designing new buildings and visiting national monuments. Her fatal flaw is hubris, otherwise known as excessive pride: she thinks she can do anything and do it well, even better than the gods.

“Monkey bar,“ Annabeth said. “I’m great at these.” She leaped onto to the first rung and start swinging her way across. She was scared of tiny spiders, but not of plummeting to her death from a set of monkey bars. Go figure.

annabeth chase for @meropegaunt

She looked just the way she had when she’d faced the Sphinx - like she wasn’t going to accept an easy answer, even if it got her in serious trouble.
